Why do people fish?

My brother, Totu, his friend and girlfriend, took me fishing for the first time in my life. I realized now why I've never gone. It is one of the most boring things I've ever experienced.

5 Months...

Today is five months that I am here in Salto, Uruguay. I'm happy to report that things have been going great. My host family here treats me as if I am part of the family, which makes being away from my family back home in NY a lot easier. I can't begin to express how grateful I am to be able to experience something as life changing as being an exchange student. Before I left I remember people telling me that this would make me a new person. I never really believed that it could, but it has. I now have 6 months left and it breaks my heart to know that I will have to leave this whole life behind. I never thought I could be so attached to a place and a family in such a short amount of time. This is a thank you to the Curubeto-Adams family here in Uruguay, for letting me be here and experience  all that Uruguay has to offer. And an even bigger thank you to my family back home in NY. I love you all more than you can imagine. Thank you for making this possible; Mom & Sheeba, Elly, Annie & Unkie- you guys are better than the best!

Drove for four hours, then arrived in Carmelo!

Settled into the beach house, then straight for the beach.
