For Spring Break, in Fall, I rented a house with my other foreign exchange friends. We spent the weekend living on our own..... in Parque del Plata. Cooking so much food, going to the beach and drinking too much Mate. Definitely a typical Uruguayan life.
It's Nik from the beautiful state of NY. I'm spending my senior year of high school as a foreign exchange student in Salto, Uruguay. This blog will be a record of all my adventures and life here for my family and friends back home. Enjoy!

First Week of School
So I've had my first week of school and it went pretty well. I'm in a science trek which I chose because math and science in Spanish are pretty similar in English so I'll actually be able to participate and enjoy myself. Some days I have four hours of math and it gets pretty tiring. I also have a lot of science classes which are harder than I thought they would be. After my classes such as lit, philosophy, chemistry, and civics I am always in desperate need of t.v. in English. The type of language my professors use is much different that what I've learned at home with my family so it'll take some getting used to. I'm lucky to be with two of my friends that were in my class last year and they help with things I can't understand. I go to school in the afternoon session, I start at 1:30 and unfortunately finish at 8pm. It was a pretty good first week, a bit tired, but good!
