Since I have been here I have probably put on close to 5 kg (10 pounds for you New Yorkers). My family loves giving me food every second of the day. They tell me I'm like a Sim, all I do is eat, shower, and sleep. I guess it's a little bit true.
Vascolet and maybe a slice of bread is all we eat for breakfast (usually around 11am)
Its really just chocolate milk, made with powder, sugar and milk. Something about it makes it better than anything from home.

Milk here comes in bag. Pa is overly excited about the milk
For lunch we have an entire sit down meal. It always hot and always absolutely delish! I eat before I go to school so around noon. My mom usually cooks it, or orders out.
It's rare to have dessert after dinner, its usually after lunch. Myabe ice cream, a pancake with dulce de leche, strawberries and whip cream, an alfajor, anything along those lines.
Alfajores! The main reason of my weight gaining
For dinner, we never eat before 9pm and sometimes even as late as 11pm. Our meal isn't too big sometimes its just an empanada or just leftovers from lunch.
Some specialties of Uruguay!
The first night here my family took me out to dinner and demanded I tried a chivito. I fell in love. The most amazing sandwich I have ever eaten. Note to self: eat sandwiches and fries with a fork and knife.
Milanesa... Pretty much just a type of meat breaded and a layer of melted cheese and ham on top.
My family's mate carrier. Mate is the most common drink here. Its just a lot of herbs and such crushed up put in the cup on the right and then boiling hot water is added. I personally dislike it. Everyone here is obsessed with drinking it. Even in the most inconvenient places, like on a moto.
Took some getting used to.....
Here regular water is almost non existent. Everyone drinks mineral water.
Peanut butter is also non existent. My Pa went to Montevideo and brought me home German peanut butter. Couldn't have been more excited.
